The care team accomplished this for 4-year-old acute myeloid leukemia fighter, Nicole Liu, and her family. During the summer of 2020, Nicole received a bone marrow transplant at Methodist Children’s Hospital. Nicole’s greatest wish was to visit Walt Disney World. With her condition worsening, her care team collaborated with Make-A- Wish ® North Texas and Central & South Texas chapters to grant her wish. In November, Nicole was able to meet her favorite princesses Anna and Elsa from Frozen at a safe and secluded party with her family, held shortly before her passing. “It meant so much to all of us who have cared for Nicole over these last few months to be able to celebrate her and her utmost strength and joy in this way,” said Jennifer Painter, certified child life specialist. “Seeing her running, riding in the carriage and interacting with the princesses was just amazing.” Nicole Liu with princesses Anna and Elsa and her family.
