Methodist Hospital namedNo. 1 Best Regional Hospital for second consecutive year Methodist Hospital was named the No. 1 Best Regional Hospital for 2020–21 by U.S. News and World Report. Methodist Hospital is the only hospital in San Antonio to receive this designation. A best regional hospital ranking is determined by a hospital’s performance in the adult specialty rankings analysis. Methodist Hospital received high performance rankings in five procedures/conditions: colon cancer surgery, heart failure, heart bypass surgery, knee replacement and COPD. Scores are based largely on objective measures, such as survival rates, volume and quality of nursing, patient safety, specialized staff, and hospital satisfaction. “Earning this recognition for a second year in a row, especially amidst a pandemic, affirms our continued commitment to providing our patients with unsurpassed experiences and the best care possible,” commented Dan Miller, CEO of Methodist Hospital and Methodist Children’s Hospital. “It is an incredible honor and could only be achieved by the exceptional work of our team members and physicians who consistently exemplify our mission of serving humanity to honor God.” Methodist Healthcare facilities win 2020 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence® award Three Methodist Healthcare facilities have won national awards for excellence in inpa- tient care as recipients of the 2020 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence® award for Patient Experience.
