AWARDS American Heart Association recognizes four Methodist Healthcare hospitals Methodist Hospital, Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan, Methodist Hospital | Northeast and Methodist Hospital | Stone Oak received Get With The Guidelines™-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement awards from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. All four facilities achieved the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Award. Pathway to Excellence designation renewed forMethodist Hospital | Metropolitan The American Nurses Credentialing Center has renewed its Pathway to Excellence Designation for Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan. The designation recognizes healthcare and long-term care orga- nizations that are creating an environment that encourages its nurses to excel. Organizations must meet six practice standards that are essential to creating an ideal nursing envi- ronment: shared decision-making, leadership, safety, quality, well-being and professional development. Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan earns LGBTQ Healthcare Equality Leader designation Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan has received the “LGBTQ Healthcare Equality Leader” designation from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC). The designation was awarded in the 13th edition of HRC’s Healthcare Equality Index (HEI). “Our mission statement is serving humanity to honor God by providing exceptional and cost-effective healthcare accessible to all. Liver Transplant Program ranked among nation’s best The Liver Transplant Program at Methodist Hospital | Specialty and Transplant was recognized as the best in the nation for long-term patient sur- vival. Our patients have a 95.61% chance of surviving three years or longer after their liver transplant, based on results reported to the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR). “The SRTR handles all the data for liver transplants,” said Dr. Preston Foster, Medical Director of the Liver Transplant Program at Methodist Hospital | Specialty and Transplant. “This achievement is a tribute to a great transplant hospital and a great team.” The liver transplant program started in 2001 in San Antonio and has since performed more than 700 liver transplants. The program has grown to include five transplant outreach clinics across Texas in Austin, Corpus Christi, El Paso, Laredo and McAllen. “It’s because we care for our pa- tients like family, that they have more time to spend with theirs,” said Amanda Weichold, Vice President of the Transplant Program at Methodist Hospital | Specialty and Transplant.
