I obsess over other moms who seem to have it all together, but I fall onto the couch after work and it is tough enough for me to cook dinner, let alone clean. Before anyone questions my daughter helping, she has chores, but I don’t want her whole childhood to be spent cleaning. I want her to be a kid and have fun while she can. She has enough responsibility being a straight-A student, a tremendous athlete (especially in track) and in honors orchestra. I also would rather spend time with my family and loved ones than mop the floor. In the end, I would rather my daughter look back at her childhood as having fun and being a little messy, than not having me around but we had a clean house. For all of you out there who feel you’re not perfect, know that you are not alone. No one is. Stop comparing yourself to other people, because I guarantee you they have a mess, too. “Instead of trying to make your life perfect, give yourself the freedom to make it an adventure, and go ever upward.” —Drew Houston Carole Harris Community Relations Specialist WomanPlus® and 55PLUS® F A L L 2 0 1 8 K E E P I N G W E L L 3 N E W S , V I E W S & T I P S M E T H O D I S T H E A L T H C A R E
